Back Then
More than four
years ago, MassiveLan.com and a group of Western New York
Gamers sat down and made plans to become the largest LAN
(local area network) Party in the region. They succeeded.
Their
persistence, dedication, and relentless nights of organizing
such an event would be the foundation for what regional
gamers call the "MLP", the Massive LAN Party.
Hundreds would
come. Some with self made systems, others lugging their
modified gaming rigs, naturally the uber elite, and never
forgetting the stingy PC builder's dream. All to play games
for three days and nights without end. Prizes, tournaments,
and many sleepless hours would await the individual who
would participate in the mini-events. The saddest PC in the
room would receive free upgrades and manufacturers would
dedicate product specifically for those who would win such
bizarre events as "the infamous 3am chair race".
Each year the
"party" grew, the switches faster, the gaming more intense,
and the overall experience more refined. Each gamer pleased,
each memory exciting.
To those who
began this journey on our behalf, thank you...
Without your
nights of hard work we would not have the foundation that
many have yet to discover:
Massive LAN!

TechnoPhobia, believe that the driving force behind this
year's good time, and next year's spectacle is nothing more
than the avid gamers themselves.

Onward
TechnoPhobia and MassiveLAN.com are already planning the
bigger, the better, the badass.
Changing venues,
larger prizes, better frags, more gamers, more gear,
sponsors such as Electronic Arts, NVidia, ATI, Intel
Extreme, Razer, ThermalTake, and gaming manufacturers from
around the globe are being contacted. All in preparation for
the 2009 season.
TechnoPhobia and
MassiveLan.com are hopeful for the largest, most promoted,
most funded, and definitely the most extreme event the
Western New York PC Gaming region has ever seen.
We are not only
dedicated to the success of the future events, but the
longevity and life of our new venture. The gamers shall
speak, we will game, and you shall frag till the prizes are
all gone.
The plans are in
motion, the wheels are quickening, the gear that drives your
game is at hand. You will have the opportunity to show your
skillz, your attitude, and your sportsmanship on the world's
newest type of turf: FPS / RTS / and mad-scientist style
open games.
MLP 2008 is a
rebirth of gaming. We are funding 2009, we are preparing the
most outrageous rigs, we are looking for the extreme novice
to the hardcore elite to step up, TODAY, and register for
MLP 2008 and in 2009. Only one shall prevail.
